04.25 Ranting with pride.

I’ve been an intern for a week now for Jollibee Foods Corporation. I work for the National Business Channels division (Drive Thru, Take Out, Big Orders, Kiddie Parties, Paskong Langhap Sarap, etc.) and I just have to say…. I find it annoying when people tell/ask me, “JOLLIBEE LANG?!”

Daheck.

First of all, hindi mo pwedeng i-lang ang Jollibee. JFC is currently number one in the Philippine food industry (restaurant). Jollibee Group of Companies is the number one employer in the country as well.

Second, hindi niyo alam ang effort na kailangan para makayanan ang stress na dala ng 750+ stores ng Jollibee. May it be auditing, consolidating, making business reviews - ang dami lang ‘teh. Masakit sa mata pero as my boss always says.. “Getting to know the company’s future plans is one of the luxuries that interns can get (and should keep) during their stay.” Checking out the competition is no joke also. We have to do….. stuff… Hehe.

Third, ang bongga lang ng working environment sa Jollibee. Jolly kung jolly ang mga employees. Makikita mo mukha ni Jollibee everywhere. I LOVE IT. We all call each other Sir/Ma’am, whatever the position of the person is. Kahit ang VP na super hands-on sa company (stereotype VP: MIA lagi), super down-to-earth na kebs lang palakad-lakad. I love my co-workers.

Lastly, madaming pagkain. Jollibee, Greenwich, Mang Inasal, Chowking, and the newest addition - Burger King. 1 na lang ang payat sa kanila, so far.

Honestly, pinili ko ang Jollibee over banks, insurance companies, retail companies, etc. for a really shallow reason - ang daming nakaiPhone, so successful sila. Pero HR pala yun. HAHAHA. Sorry.

BUUUUUT! Thanks to my shallowness, I got in a company that I enjoy working in. Hindi ko naramdamang hindi ako welcome. Hindi ko naramdamang bago ako. Bonus na lang ‘yung allowance, what matters is the experience (NAKS). I’m happy that I decided on pursuing my internship and that I chose to work for a bee. Jollibee happy.
